Kohsuke Kawaguchi is the creator of the Jenkins project and Co-head of AI and Engineering at CloudBees. He co-founded the AI-driven testing platform Launchable, which was acquired by CloudBees in 2024. Kohsuke previously held roles at Sun Microsystems and Oracle, where he worked on various projects and initiated the open-source work that led to Jenkins. Kohsuke is passionate about solving daily problems developers face and has been widely recognized for his impact on the software engineering industry, receiving accolades including the O’Reilly open-source Award, JavaOne Rockstar, Japan OSS Contributor Award, and a Rakuten Technology Award. Originally from Tokyo, Japan, Kohsuke now resides in San Jose, California with his family.
